FIRST SEMESTER – STEAM THEORY (30 ECTS)

This semester is focused on pedagogical knowledge of STEAM and its application in the teaching field.

The candidate's choice of itinerary in MASTED depends on the field of study of their bachelor's degree. Two options are available: one starting at UBU for students with a science background and another starting at IPCA for those with an educational degree. Both institutions offer 30 ECTS of a compulsory nature, and, depending on the country of origin of each student, it will be counted as a mobility period.

The UBU program focuses on ‘STEAM pedagogies’ and includes 6 ECTS of mandatory internships that can be carried out, among others, in the following centres and entities:

  • Formal Education: primary bilingual schools.
  • Non-formal spaces: La Estación de la Ciencia y la Tecnología; UBUVerde.

The IPCA program focuses on ‘Applied STEAM’ with a complete practical programme with specific laboratory subjects (7 ECTS) and workshop on its facilities, consequently, they don't have curricular internships.

Kristianstad University (HKR) will provide guest lecturers for the subject called ‘Images of Science Teaching for all students’ offered in UBU’s programme.

THIRD SEMESTER – FINAL MASTER PROJECT  (30 ECTS)

The third semester is dedicated to the individual development of the master's thesis, which each student can carry out at any of the partner institutions, regardless of their previous itinerary.
